Lego Candy Machine V4 *NXT*

Today (October 19) was the release of my fourth version in the Lego Candy Machine series. This machine is fully automatic. All you need to do is insert two Euros, sit back and enjoy your Mars bar. No levers, nothing. Everything is done with the smartness of the NXT brick. Machine contains coin rejections as well as a up to two rounds dispensing. Machine includes light sensors, which activates the motor, all controlled by the NXT brick. Of course none of these would be able to happen without programming the actual thing. So enjoy the first step to automatic machines in TheLegoHow channel.

TheLegoHow Season 2 Preview

Its been long since my last video but this doesn't mean I have quit this channel or something. Actually, better machines and videos will be awaiting for you. Thank you for your support and for your views which have increased a lot (A LOT). A new machine is currently being built with about 40% completed.  This season will be a season with a lot of new ideas and concepts which is one of the reasons why there are few versions of one machine. I try new things out of Lego and if it works I share it on Youtube. I have also been partnered up with a network called Freedom! which was suggested by a legend in Lego machines (AstonishingStudios) Yes, lots of things are waiting us for this new season and suggest your ideas because I sometimes run out of ideas too! If you want to become a partner with this network, simply click the link below. (They don't require much for partnership) Also if you want to contact me through email, that's also below. Lets have a great year!

Lego Safe V2

Here is my second version of my Lego safe line. It contains a very simple mechanism but can only be accessed with the special axle key. It contains a box which is quite deep and can store a good amount of valuables. Even though it is kind of ironic to build a safe out of Lego, I think this version is safe and can't be accessed unless someone breaks it or has access to the key. The design is simple and I tried to give as much space possible for the box so it can store a large amount of valuables. This time the mechanism is different from the first version which is much harder to access and is much more secure. Please subscribe and donate to my channel.

Lego Mystery Minifigure Machine

After the unsuccessful Lego Sochi Winter Games machines, I broke it down and noticed that I haven't uploaded anything to Youtube for a while. I wanted my viewers to stay with me so I created a simple Lego machine which I thought is pretty cool and I haven't seen anything like this before. I created a Lego Minifigure Machine where you receive a random Lego minifigure once you inserted a coin. The machine takes up to two rounds and is very small. The machine could hold more if I added some more layers which would make the refilling tower longer but I thought that the point of making something like this was to make it simple and small. The video is up on Youtube.

*Goodbye* Sochi 2014 Winter Games Machine

So for the past few weeks I have been working on an Ice Tea machine with a special Sochi design to remember the events. However, the mechanism got too heavy and I ran out of specific pieces, etc. I really wish I could build this machine because it looked very promising and possibly my best machine yet but it failed. I broke it down to build something new and realistic. You can donate to me from the donate section via Paypal to support me for getting new bricks and other items so I can make new machines. Here is what my machine was like before I broke it:

60060 Lego City Auto Transporter

After a series of updates on my machines, it is time to talk about some of Lego's new products that have recently came out. The Lego City Auto Transporter (set number 60060) has 350 pieces and retails at $29.99 on the official Lego Store. This means the set has about 11.67 cents a piece which isn't that bad but the larger sets usually has a better cost per piece. This set comes with 3 vehicles including the auto transporter and 2 basic cars. It comes with 2 minifigures and has functions that Lego has put to make it more playable such as adjusting a ramp for the new cars to get transported which is done with an axle mechanism.

This set looks like a great addition to your Lego city and would probably look good if you have the earlier Lego releases such as the Lego Garage. Overall, I don't know why there are 2 minifigures since one of them is the driver and the other one is possibly the customer but the customer looks weird as if he has to follow the auto transporter until it reaches its destination to receive the car and sign the contract.

Lego Candy Machine V2: Update 2

I will now give a preview of my finalized Lego Candy Machine V2. Unfortunately, it will not contain a 2 option mechanism but it will still have the coin rejections. I decided to give the 2 option mechanism on later versions so there is usually something new in every version of my machine. The Candy Machine will be on Youtube around 5:30pm so don't forget to watch it. Here is a preview of the main design and the overall machine.

Yet Another Lego Machine!

This time I am currently building my Lego Candy Machine V2 with a 2 option mechanism and will have coin rejections. Lego candy machines get respectable views on Youtube and is well known by many people. Also this version will contain a new mechanism for getting the earned money back. This machine will be finished during the next weekend at the latest. So far this is all I have to say and stay tuned to see what Lego can make! I will be putting pictures on the next updates of this amazing machine.

Lego Pinball Machine V1-FINISHED!

Yes, its finished!! The majestic pinball machine is finished and will be filmed hopefully on Tuesday. I didn't do it today because it's night here and its just too dark. Since the last update I finished off parts on the ball dispenser and added a coin tray so I can get the profit. Unfortunately there are no pictures this time because I didn't want to spoil it so if you want to see everything stay tuned for the week. I also changed the pinball board so there would be more space to move the ball around and also bought some rubber bands to make the flipper mechanism. The flippers were a pain because they would jam often until I found a way to stop it to do so. I put two rubber bands per flipper so there would be more friction and would need more force to push which I like. Overall, this is the last update of the Lego Pinball Machine V1 and see you next time with new creations and Lego news.

Lego Pinball Update 2-Almost There!

Its been a week since the last update and all that I can say is that its close to finishing. I have currently been working on this project once a week since I was very limited on time but planning to get it done this week. I have put in the flippers which do work well and tested them out with the reward system. Also the reward system will contain coins and will be dispensed if the ball makes it into the hole. This was also tested and did work smoothly. The main part to finish now is the ball dispensing mechanism which is extremely tall because it has to dispense the balls onto the pinball area. Everything else seems to be great and will be on Youtube within the week or so. Also I will need to get some rubber bands so the flippers work like real pinball flippers. Also I ran low on the yellow so I decided to add some grey bricks so that the color scheme was kept the same. Hopefully this will be the last update and will be presented on Youtube for a close up and see what this amazing machine is all about! Stay tuned until then.

Lego Pinball Machine Version 1 On Its Way!

Its has been a while since my last creation which was Lego Coin Bank V2. I decided to change things a little bit and I am currently building a new machine. This pinball machine consists of a regular candy machine mechanism to dispense the balls for gameplay. Its not an old boring pinball machine without a reward. Even though its the first version, I thought of adding a reward system where when the ball gets into the hole, the player will receive a prize which I have not decided yet. The prize will probably be twice the money you will be paying to play the game. So if you put 1 dollar to get the marbles from the dispenser and make it into the hole, you will get 2 dollars back. It is up to you what to do with the money but why not play some more? So far the machine is about 25-30% complete because there are a lot more details I will have to consider to make an interesting machine. The machine does niot have any Mindstorms or Power Functions to power the machine. I really like how I did the "WIN" and "$" signs because they really stand out well. Here are some pictures of the progress and the things I still need to work on. Below there is a preview in different angles of the amazing machine:

Lego Exclusive: Horizon Express Kit

This is one of my favorite Lego Exclusive sets. The Horizon Express is the best train set Lego has produced so far. Set number 5003540 the Horizon Express is recommended for ages 14+ and comes with 1351 pieces. The set retails for $253.49 and currently is out of stock but is expected to ship January 25th. As far as the minifigures, for the time Lego has put a female operator in the train. Also the train comes with lots of cool details such as an economy class and a first class kind of thing. Also it includes a lot of techniques such as Lego built arrows instead of stickers. Also if you are not a Lego train fan then you could still buy this set because it comes with a lot of Power Functions. That is the main reason why the price is high for the amount of pieces. Lego has created a great scene with a couple having a romantic time in the train while there is good service provided by the waiter in the train. Lego has been trying to put more female characters in their Lego sets for the past few years and this can be seen in this Exclusive and a must have train for your city.

Lego Coin Bank V2 Pictures Released+Intro to Youtube Channel (Update)

Yes, it is another Lego Machine! For those who don't know, this blog is a part of TheLegoHow Youtube channel and today is the release of the second version of my Lego Bank. It is a fully functional bank with a coin sorter in it. This coin sorter is not NXT functioned or any other electrical functions. It is 100% legit Lego and has 4 trays to store money safely while they are sorted. Also the color scheme is very nice and it works 100% of the time. It is safe with a lock mechanism. I will post the link to the video for more detail and see in action. In the meantime here are some pictures and a sneak peek to this machine. It has approximately 100-200 pieces and no it is not for sale. My Youtube channel contains all kinds of machines from money taking candy machines to Lego games and all this is custom made. Every version has a development and most of the time something new to it so keep in touch.

The Growing Series of Lego Architecture: The Eiffel Tower

Previously presented by Lego, the exclusive Eiffel Tower now has a smaller version presented by the Architecture series. This version contains 321 pieces and only costs $34.99 on the online Lego shop. Compared to the previous version this one seems more legit because both sets do not have minifigures since they are not in scale. Buying a cheaper set for display is more logical so people are heading to buy this version of the Eiffel Tower. The exclusive Eiffel Tower version has retired and can be found on Ebay for $850+. This is the great thing about Lego. Once a set retires you can sell it for a much more profitable cost online to make money.

When it comes to the set itself, Architecture has done a great job in fitting lots of details on a small scale. The grill pieces give it a very nice texture of metal. It looks very realistic just like any Architecture set and does not have any playable function. It comes with a lot of elements in the same color so even if you want to break the set down for your own creations, this set would do the job since it has a variety of elements. The exterior details are neat while the path is represented by grey smooth tiles below the tower and green smooth tiles for grass. Overall a 10/10 for display purposes which would be a good idea to gift someone who like monuments or is an architect. Do not buy this for your kid because most likely they would not like it much since it has no minifigs and is quite boring to play with.
